Recycling Center

On Tuesday Emily and I went to the Recycling Center in Woodinville. Here is Emily's assessment of the field trip:

It was really cool and I liked seeing everything. These pictures show how much recycling piles up in this facility in 2 days. I hope you enjoy these pictures.






This picture shows the glass items after they are crushed. It is important that you always clean all the stuff in your jars and bottles before you recycle it. If you leave sticky or sugary contents in the jar, it lessens the reusability of that glass.

I also learned that if you find little spots on your cardboard cereal boxes, it means that something that was recyled didn't get cleaned out properly.
We learned that it is as important (or more) to REDUCE and REUSE... that way this facility won't be so jam-packed with recyclables every day!
